New Years Eve - 2012

We kept our New Years Eve low key again this year and stayed at home.  We played games with the kids, watched a movie and had our annual fondue night.  It's always a hit with all that chocolate!  Then we had the kids do the poppers outside, had a sparkling cider toast, and sent the kids to bed before midnight.

After Christmas Fun with the White's

We enjoyed the time spent with family after Christmas.  We had a second little Christmas after Grandma and Grandpa arrived and the girls were thrilled to get a new trampoline that the boys put together.

We went to go bowling but couldn't get a lane fast enough so we ended up doing indoor Glo-golf.  Wasn't that exciting for the adults but Chloe and Eliza loved it!  Chloe would have stayed all day if we had let her.

Rob and I tried to get out and celebrate our 8th Anniversary on the 29th (real day was the 30th) but we were both coming down with some sort of flu bug that almost everyone ended up getting that week.  Not fun!

Christmas 2012

We had a wonderful Christmas this year with 3 of the Uncles joining us by Christmas Eve and then Grandpa Snow White and Grandma Debbie showing up the day after Christmas.  And even better - we experienced our first white Christmas!  It was fun to get a storm on Christmas Eve and wake up to fresh new snow.

On Christmas Eve we decorated some cookies for Santa, left some carrots for the reindeer, and did the Nativity story from the Bible before heading to bed in hopes that Santa would arrive.

We let the girls open up one present on Christmas Eve and they were very excited to get soft new dolls from Uncle Dale and Aunt Kelley.

The next morning, the girls woke up a little before 7 and wanted to see if Santa came to visit.  We had to wake up the Uncles first but we finally got them out of bed and were able to see that Santa did come!  I am calling Christmas 2012 the My Little Pony Christmas since that seemed to be the running theme.

We dressed up in our Christmas outfits the Sunday before Christmas (I promise Asher does wear socks and shoes)

Zoolights and Santa Visit

We headed to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo for a family night and to check out the Electric Safari.  Another plan was to get the free pictures taken with Santa Claus!  The line was fairly short (under 15 minutes) and the Santa was really sweet.  Chloe refused to go anywhere near him (even with all the bribing that I tried) but I did get a picture of her with Mrs. Claus.  Asher wasn't sure what to think about Santa!  But we enjoyed the quick visit, pictures and then walked around the cold zoo for a while.
