Easter Sunday 2013

The kids woke up on Easter Sunday to some baskets from the Easter Bunny and a little egg hunt.

Then it was time to head to church in our Sunday best:  (it is so hard to get a good picture of the 3 kids together!)

Coloring Easter Eggs

It wouldn't be Easter without dyeing the hard boiled eggs!  The girls were really into it this year- which is good because I almost forgot to do it until late on the night before Easter!

Easter Egg Hunt

For the past 3 years that we've lived here, we've had an Easter Egg Hunt at the park with some friends.  All the parents bring some filled eggs, a couple parents hide them, and then we let the kids search in different areas of the park depending on their ages.  It's always fun to meet up with the friends and the kids are able to get some candy and then play on the playground.  Win win! It was not as warm this year but at least not raining.

The Hadley's Come to Visit

Over their spring break, some of our best friends - The Hadley's - came to visit us in Colorado Springs! Unfortunately for them, it was a crazy week of weather.  They got stuck overnight in a shelter in Walsenburg, CO on their way from Arizona in a HUGE blizzard.  This was after they got stuck in a snowstorm in Northern Arizona as well!  It took so long for them to get to us but they finally arrived on a Sunday morning.
Amy and I were pregnant with Brooklyn and Ellie at the same time back in 2006-07 and we were visiting teaching partners and became the best of friends!  We also served in the Primary Presidency for a while as well and loved that experience. Our girls were great friends too and we did a lot of fun stuff together.  We had not seen them since Thanksgiving when we were in Arizona and they had never been to Colorado to visit us.  Rob started working with Amy's husband Joshua's company Now Communications that month and that was really the main reason for the visit so that he could get trained.  But it worked out for the rest of us to have fun while the guys worked!

Eliza was still in school so we had to work around her schedule and the not-so-warm weather.  The kids had fun playing games, dress up, and all of sorts of stuff inside the house and were easily entertained.  The highlight was going to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo!  We LOVE this zoo and it is the best for taking visitors too since it is so amazing. And then we drove through Garden of the Gods park - again AMAZING!

We also went to Focus on the Family and played there.

And fun just playing at home:
