Dad/Grandpa's 60th Birthday Weekend

My dad turned 60 on October 21st and earlier in the year, my brothers and I talked about making it a celebration weekend. Since all but 1 of my brothers lives in Utah, it made that part easy. Trent booked his tickets to come up and we started planning. Since Trent was part of the surprise, he stayed at our house with us on Friday and we took him to the Scarecrow Festival at Thanksgiving Point Gardens.

Throwing a surprise party is always tricky but with a lot of helpers, we were able to invite friends from Washington, friends from growing up in San Jose, CA, and then of course family.  My stepmom Debbie and her sister Karen and her husband Eric took my dad out for dinner on Friday night while the kids went into their house and set up for the party and let in the party guests. They had to stall a little bit but we were able to pull off a successful surprise party!

The next day we continued the festivities with an afternoon at Jaker's in Springville. Everyone loved the corn pit (Rob is ready to put one in our backyard), the corn maze, hay ride, and more at this location on a very warm fall day.

After the pumpkin patch, we headed to Get Air Hang Time for jumping on all the trampolines and into the foam pits.

The evening was capped off with a visit to Tepanyaki for the hibachi grill. Great food and Asher loved the fire and tricks of the chef.

Sunday after church we gathered again for Sunday Night Football and the Seahawks vs Cardinals game. It will go down in history as the most boring football game I have ever watched with a final score of 6-6 (tie game) and missed field goals by BOTH teams in OT.
