To me - summer isn't complete without a baseball game! We never made it up to Denver this summer to see the Rockies play - but we did manage to catch our local Colorado Springs Sky Sox (the Rockies farm team) play the Tacoma Rainiers (Seattle Mariners farm team that I grew up watching) at the end of August. Originally we were going to just go on a date but babysitting plans fell through and the kids got to come with us!
We had decent seats in the lower section but neglected to eat before we went and that was a huge mistake. I'm pretty sure the food was more expensive than a major league baseball game! But the kids were happy with their mini pizzas and soda.
We thought for sure we were going to get rained out due to the extremely dark storm cloud but it only sprinkled a little bit and the game continued. We stayed until the 7th inning stretch and then called it a night but it was a lot of fun and hopefully we'll be able to attend more games next summer.
