19 Days or Less Until Asher Arrives!

We are into the home stretch!  In less than a month we will be meeting our baby boy.  It really doesn't seem real that it is happening so soon!  On one hand, this pregnancy feels like it is has taken forever (especially since I was so super sick for over 5 months of it) but then on the other hand, I can't believe that we are reaching the end.  I waver between feeling like I am ready to feeling like I still have so much to do.  But having two other kids to take care of and a lot of other stuff going on with life, makes it really easy to put it on the back burner and avoid thinking about the labor & delivery part which still terrifies me!

My doctor has agreed to induce me on May 4th IF Asher hasn't decided to make his appearance before then! My aunt Kelley will still be here and my dad and Debbie will be here shortly after that date so we will have all the bases covered for watching the girls if he waits until then.

I am still feeling pretty good for the most part!  Asher is curled up with his head down and his back is on my right side and his legs on my left.  I appreciate that he isn't kicking my ribs!  It's just funny that for the last 8 weeks almost all the kicks are on my left side.   I am waking up every 2-3 hours at night and have some aches and pains and have had days of really strong and painful contractions and have to be careful not to pass out.... but I will still take this part over the beginning of pregnancy!   For the last month I managed to not gain any weight (not sure HOW that happened with all the Easter candy and chocolate that I consumed) but we'll see if that hold true over the next few weeks.

My cravings currently revolve around two main things - lemons and Sonic ice.  I have been obsessed with lemon water with Sonic ice and lemonade.  I don't really like lemon candy or lemon bars but my lemon craving has extended to the point where I spent a couple hours on pinterest the other day trying to find a few lemon cake or cupcake recipes to make.  Hope my family is ready to help me make all the lemon treats I have planned for this week!  And chewing Sonic ice is a favorite past time of mine lately.  I buy the big bag from Sonic at the start of the week and eat/drink with the ice all week until the next Monday.  Other than these two things - food isn't really that appealing.  I get heartburn pretty bad and full pretty quickly so I try and eat simple meals that don't require a lot of ingredients or prep/clean up.

Asher's room is about half way finished.  So I need to finish up the nursery in the next couple of weeks!  But it will be cute and simple when it is done (and I'll take pictures).

I only have to get a swing and we've covered all the major things for bringing Asher home and my hospital bag is about half way packed.

Just have to go through the waiting game now and try and space out the last projects and cleaning and prepare myself for labor & delivery!

Here I am today at 36.5 weeks:

Easter Sunday 2012

Easter Sunday the girls awoke bright and early to realize that the Easter Bunny had paid them a visit!  Chloe was the best because she was so excited that she was shaking.  She wasn't sure what to do about all the candy filled eggs and the small presents from the Easter Bunny!  We managed to capture some of her excitement on video camera but I haven't figure out how to condense it enough to make it share-able (plus I'm 8+ months pregnant in it and in my pajamas!).

The girls went on an Easter Egg Hunt around the house and enjoyed their art themed Easter baskets and new dresses and sandals.

Then we got ready for a wonderful meeting at church where we were reminded of the real reason for the day.   After church, we enjoyed a nice walk on a beautiful spring day and a fabulous dinner and dessert.

Coloring Easter Eggs

I kept seeing all the suggestions to color Easter eggs using Kool-aid and thought it sounded like a great idea.  While it did smell much better, I think it made an even bigger mess!  And it turned my hands red.  But the kids had fun with it.

Easter Egg Hunt

We had a little Easter egg hunt with friends at local park a couple of days before Easter.  All the parents brought 10 filled eggs for each child participating and a couple of the mom's hid them around the park and then we let the kids go for it!  It was a super windy day but everyone seemed to have fun and the kids loved the candy and then playing at the park afterwards while the moms chatted.

Disney on Ice

On April 5th, we took the girls to Disney on Ice.  We had fantastic seats and it was a lot of fun!  This year the theme was Disney celebrating 100 years so they had a little bit of everything from Mickey and Minnie Mouse, to the Disney Princesses, and Toy Story, Finding Nemo and Pinocchio.   Chloe LOVED seeing Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy and kept waving to them.  Of course Ellie loved the Princesses the most.  It was a fun night out as a family!  (Trying to get a family picture was next to impossible and the kids don't look that happy but trust me that they were loving it!!)

St. Patrick's Day

I love St. Patrick's Day!  It's such a fun holiday for kids to celebrate and since I'm part Irish (my paternal Grandma was Irish) - I feel like it's a good day to celebrate.  Rob was in Arizona for the weekend but that didn't mean that I couldn't plan some fun things for the girls!

The leprechaun started the day off for us by turning all the toilet water green, the milk green, leaving some Lucky Charms, and by sending the girls on a little treasure hunt.  At the end of the hunt, they found green sand pails filled with some green colored toys and a little candy.  Eliza loved this treasure hunt and didn't stop talking about it the rest of the day!

We had a Irish/green themed dinner with corned beef sandwiches, sour cream and onion chips, green grapes, and green jell-o.  We finished it off by heading to Culver's for some mint green and Oreo frozen custard!

P.S.  That binky/pacifier that Chloe is sporting is now GONE!!  We went cold turkey on cutting her off from the pacifier and I'm so happy to be binky free for a little while until the new baby comes.  Now if I could just get her to be 100% on potty training.....
