Asher's Baby Blessing

Rob was able to bless Asher Warren Boding on Father's Day (June 17th).  It was such a special day to have him blessed!  We were able to have Rob's dad and brother, my dad, our good friend Jeff Turner, Brother Ash (soon to be Bishop Ash after the Sacrament meeting that day) and Bishop Webster join in the circle.  Rob gave a beautiful blessing for our wonderful little boy and I was touched by his mention of Asher having the Spirit of Elijah with him and be able to communicate with those that have passed on before him and have them close to him. Rob wasn't sure where that came from but I hope that Asher lives up to that and can communicate with my mom and our other loved ones and do a lot of genealogy work (although that probably means that I should step up on that end as well!).

We had a full house that afternoon with all the family that came to share with us!  Rob's brother Warren and his wife Melissa and their 4 kids came, Rob's parents, both of Rob's grandma's came and my dad and Debbie came.  I especially enjoyed spending time with Grandma Bodine - Asher's middle name is after her late husband (and Rob's brother as well) and has a lot of special meaning to us even though he passed away when Rob was really young.

We tried to get some family pictures but Rob hates family pictures so it was a little bit of torture for him!  And I need to stick Asher into his blessing outfit again and get better pictures of him.  But he was having a rough day with so much attention and people wanting to hold him!  Here is picture overload:

he is so cute! what a wonderful blessing. i always feel so stressed out during baby blessings -- having to accommodate extra guests and family plus not really sleeping because of a newborn. it sounds like this was a great day for you guys, though. :)
