One of the few complaints that I have about Colorado is the lack of water and lakes to visit. Even in Arizona there was plenty of bodies of water so I didn't feel so landlocked! So one of the places that was on my list to check out was Palmer Lake. In my mind - it would be a good sized lake but that was not the case. It was more like a pond! And it turned out to be a super windy day. But the kids had fun playing on the playground for a while and then we found a cute little ice cream shop across the street from the park so that made up for the trip out to this pond.
